Roadside tyre change, day or night
Yellow Tyres changes tyres at the roadside across London, East London, Dartford and the Essex borders, 24 hours a day. Fitting your spare or a puncture repair is £80–£100 including the call-out, and new tyres start from £130 fitted. Our vans carry flashing amber beacons and high-visibility markings and typically reach you in 15–60 minutes.
Whether it’s the A13 at Barking, the A12 at Gallows Corner, the A406 North Circular, the A2 at Blackheath or a quiet street in Islington, we come to where the car has stopped. You’re calling the fitter, not a booking agent. Our own vans, our own fitters, from 4 East London bases.
What we do at the roadside
- Fit your spare – £80–£100 including the call-out. Spare tyre fitting.
- Repair the puncture – nails and screws in the tread repaired with a plug where safe. Mobile tyre repair.
- Fit a new tyre – blowouts and sidewall damage replaced on the spot, balanced on the van. We only fit brand-new tyres; we don’t sell part-worn or used tyres.
- Remove a locking wheel nut – lost key? Most types, £100 per nut. How it works.
Stay safe first
- If you can, leave at the next exit or pull into a side road, lay-by, car park or petrol station.
- Hazard lights on. On a fast road, get everyone out on the side away from traffic and wait behind the barrier.
- Stuck in a live lane, or in danger? Call 999 first.
- Don’t drive on a flat – it can destroy a tyre that could have been repaired, and damage the wheel.

Roadside tyre change FAQs
Is there an extra charge for a roadside tyre change?
Not on local streets – normal roadside jobs on residential and local roads have no extra charge. A-road and motorway call-outs (any A or M route, including dual carriageway A roads): extra £60–£100, confirmed on the phone before we set off. No hidden fees.
Is there an extra charge on motorways or dual carriageways?
Only on A roads and motorways. A-road and motorway call-outs (any A or M route, including dual carriageway A roads) cost an extra £60–£100 on top of the normal price, because of the journey and the work involved on those roads. Normal roadside jobs on local streets have no extra charge. It’s never hidden: we confirm the full price, including any extra, on the phone before we set off. Safety first – on a hard shoulder, get behind the barrier and call 999 if you’re in danger, or National Highways on 0300 123 5000.
Do you come out to the roadside?
Yes. We change tyres at the roadside across our area, 24/7 – on residential streets, main roads, lay-bys, petrol stations and car parks. Our vans carry flashing amber beacons and high-visibility chevron markings, so we can assist at the roadside, including the motorway hard shoulder.
What should I do while I wait?
Your safety comes first. Pull over somewhere safe, switch on your hazard lights and get yourself and your passengers out of the vehicle on the side away from traffic, behind a barrier if there is one. If you are in danger, call 999. Then call us – our vans carry flashing amber beacons and high-visibility chevron markings, so we can assist at the roadside, including the hard shoulder.
How fast can you reach me at the roadside?
Typically 15–60 minutes, depending on where you are and the traffic. Around 30 of our 46 fitters are on the road at any hour. Give us the road, direction of travel and nearest junction or landmark.
How much is a roadside tyre change?
Fitting your spare or repairing a puncture: £80–£100 including the call-out. A new tyre fitted at the roadside starts from £130. The price is agreed on the phone before we set off.
I don’t know my tyre size – can you still help?
Have your tyre size ready when you call: it’s on the tyre wall (e.g. 205/55 R16). Not sure? Stay with the vehicle and we’ll help you find it over the phone.
Do I need a tow truck?
Usually not. If the tyre can be repaired, the spare fitted or a new tyre fitted where you are, you drive away. If the wheel or car is damaged beyond a tyre, we’ll tell you honestly.
